Appearance - The beer poured a thick black color with a dark tan head crowning the glass.
Smell - The nose with straight milk chocolate and whiskey. It didn’t betray the potency of the alcohol.
Taste - Initially, I thought I might’ve been drinking chocolate milk with a hint of whiskey. Chocolate really took the lead in the whiskey was well balanced. There was also a light earthiness that almost brought to mind scotch notes. Chocolate was the dominant flavor in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - The feel was smooth with a little carbonation noted.
Overall - I believe I like the 18th Street side of the collaboration better. However, this was solid.

Got this one from desp a while back. Cheers!
From a bomber into a snifter
Imperial stout aged in chocolate bourbon barrels
Collaboration with 18th Street
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a 3 finger, medium looking, slightly crackly, dark tan head with good retention. Black body with no real carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a full cap and clings to the glass as it fades. Half wisp remains leaving some decent lacing on the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Bourbon, oak, definite cacao aromas, as well as some booze on the nose. Sweet cream, vanilla and notes of coconut. Decent strength.
TASTE: Chocolate and cacao powder up front, with bourbon, oak and some sweet vanilla cream. Definite booze at the swallow, moving into a bold and lingering finish with pure, bitter chocolate, fudge brownies, sweet vanilla cream, some butterscotch sweetness, bourbon, oak character and some alcohol as well. Pretty decadent finish here.
PALATE: Medium-fuller body with slightly lower levels of carbonation. Enough weight and semi-creamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a bit mouth-coating. Some heat lingers.
OVERALL: Lovely stuff. Though it might be a bit of a gimmick, the chocolate bourbon barrels are great here. Cycle makes some lovely base imperial stouts and their barrel aging program is second to none, so the fact that the chocolate bourbon stuff is awesome is really no surprise. Another great addition to a family of bourbon barrel aged stouts that is quickly becoming the best in the world. Thanks again, desp. Cheers!

Pours Black with a dark khaki head. Has a nice barrel note with a woodsy chocolate undertone. Taste is a chocolate explosion but more on the sweeter milk chocolate side. Nice bourbon back end. Feel is silky and just the right amount of carbonation. Overall this beer is very good and rather chocolatey. Another hit by cycle.
