Got this one from desp a while back. Cheers!
From a bomber into a snifter
Bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with peppers, cinnamon and vanilla beans
APPEARANCE: Black pour yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, creamy yet slightly crackly dark tan head with good retention. Black body with no carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a nice, full, creamy cap. Splotchy wisp and ring remain with fallings dots of lacing down the glass on every sip.
SMELL: Lovely nose. Cinnamon, vanilla beans, some bourbon and oak, milk chocolate, butterscotch, and some light pepper notes as well. Aromatic and bold. Enticing.
TASTE: Vanilla, cinnamon spices and some peppers up front. Notes of bourbon as well, with some more spices at the swallow. Bold finish of some milder pepper heat, cinnamon flavor, vanilla and milk chocolate and butterscotch sweetness, notes of oak, some bourbon and a bit of booze as well. Really well balanced and quite decadent. Some chili heat, spices and bourbon linger nicely.
PALATE: Medium body and somewhat lower levels of carbonation. Creamy and smooth on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes mouth-coating. Some pepper heat lingers.
OVERALL: Awesome stuff. This seems like it’s a better batch that batch 1. Really well balanced and plenty of character all over the place. Super smooth as well. The cinnamon was really well done and worked seamlessly with the vanilla and barrel character, while the pepper character was just enough to give it the needed kick. Excellent and would love to drink all the time. Thanks again, desp!
