Grabbed a bottle at Cycle in 2019. Despite label suggesting drink fresh I let this go almost 2 years from bottling and extremely happy I did.
Classic deep dark brown with ruby accents to light; thick creamy tan 1/2 finger head quickly resolving into halo. Halo evolved into a burnt Orange sunset color. Wow.
Nose exceptionally rich with vanilla and dark fruit. Taste mirrors with a beautiful semi/-sweet vanilla perfectly integrated into sweet milk chocolate and dark fruit. More old ale than Imp stout. Highly complex. Smooth silky body with a very gentle bite of alcohol.
Overall my favorite of the 6 th Anniversary Vanilla Stouts.
Excellent dessert stout.
The Ecuadorian is Probably the best vanilla taste I’ve encountered in a stout.
So glad I had a chance to drink one before retirement. Huge thumbs up.
