This single adjunction barrel-aged stout spent about 20 months in bourbon barrels and was then aged on macadamia nuts.

Bomber from Tavour. Dark brown pour, flat. Taste is sweet, then nutty macadamia, then roasty malts and notes of chocolate. ABV crops up at the back for some heat.

I don't love this. Dark black body. Chocolate fudge, barrel, astringent nuttiness, borderline bitter. Could use vanilla or coconut to really balance it out. Milk chocolate in the back as well. Medium full bodied, good carbonation, bitter nutty finish.

Brownish black viscous body with a brown cap. Aromas of macadamia, chocolate, bourbon, oak, vanillins and molasses. Fudge and macadamia nut combine so well in the taste, decadent, with the bourbon barrel elemetns from the nose supporting. Classic cycle smoothness and viscosity but lighter bodied, barrel is present but not complex in texture. Good dessert beer

Jet black body; fizzy carbonation and head; head rapidly dissipates to nearly nothing, just a wispy, pencil-thin ring around the circumference of the glass. Heavy roasted grain aroma infused with notes of dark chocolate and what can be described as a "nut-like" earthiness; slight whiskey note. Stellar taste! Rich semi-sweet chocolate and cocoa; coconut; nuts; a sense of mint spiciness. Heavy, oily body; smooth and velvety; immense residual sugar texture; mild warmth from the alcohol.
This beer lacks in appearance but makes up for it with an incredible taste and mouthfeel. I really got little sense of the barrel-aging initially although that developed as the beer opened up, but the use of macadamia nuts was quite evident and well done from the beginning. The depth, character and complexity with the taste is phenomenal.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a narrow collar of off white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dark chocolate and bourbon are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but has additional notes of macadamia nuts, particularly towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very slick on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I wished that the macadamia nut flavors could have been a bit stronger but overall this is a fine imperial stout. It also does a good job at hiding most of the alcohol from the taste.
