More like a stout than a Porter to me. Dirty looking: brown and ruby colors with lots of coconut particulates on the surface. Smell is strong coconut, boozy barrel, and sweet vanilla. Taste is coconut, booze, and notes of chocolate and vanilla. Medium bodied, a bit oily, a little thickness, and a strong boozy burn. I don’t think aging this would improve the taste, it would probably only lower the strength and booziness. Interesting beer.

Pretty good- chocolate fudge, barrel heat and a bit of vanillin. The coconut is fairly restrained and contributes more of a sweet coconut juice rather than the toasted coconut flavors. Still solid balance, medium full bodied, lower carbonation.

Bottle at share. Tuesday, it's a long slog towards the weekend. Black pour, very thin beige head. Sweet roasty malts start off the aroma, bourbon barrel, then coconut. Taste brings the coconut front and center, blending with the chocolaty, roasty notes for a candy bar feel. Light booziness and warmth..

Deep, dark brown body, nearly black; lively, fizzy carbonation; basically no head other than a thin, soapy ring of fat bubbles around the inner circumference of the glass. Faint smell of dark roasted grain; faint coffee-like note. Outstanding roasted grain and toasted coconut flavor; charred wood; rich sweetness. Heavy body; slick and oily; chewy residual sugar feel.
The initial impressions (i.e., looks and smell) don't come across as promising, but the taste and mouthfeel pull this beer through. It's lager character shines through in the mouthfeel and the taste is testament to the brewer's art.

Tar black body, clean pour save a tiny beige ring. Big bourbon on the nose with molasses, big coconut, dark oak, dark chocolate, leather, and a hint of anise. Taste has more of an emphasis on coconut, vanillins and licorice, with bourbon, molasses, leather and oak supporting. Liked the set up in the nose better given the balance. Feel is classic cycle smoothness and viscosity, warm and heavy baltic porter yet finishes in a elevated brightness from the coconut
