3-year barrel-aged imperial stout with chocolate orange. We really took our time on this one. Chocolate orange sounds pretty simple, but to get the orange flavor to stay crisp without being too much took some tweaking. We're pretty happy with how this one came out and we can't wait to hear what you think!

I've been slow to pull the trigger on the Cycle brews that end up on Tavour. However, I finally came around with the chocolate orange BA Szn and I'm glad I did. Right orange oil that isn't fake or spoiled runs through the boozy beast. Chocolate notes let you know that it is still a stout. A great bridge between two flavors that are very difficult to work into beer.

Shimmering jet black body with a light brown head. Candied orange and chocolate dominating the oak forward barrel in both smell and taste. Feel is warm, chewy, thick, and dries out nicely. If you are an orange fan you will love this! Felt festive in the Christmas season

Deep, dark brown body, looks nearly black in the glass, opaque; thin, light brown head, lasting; decent rings of foam encircle the glass interior. Nice aroma of bitter chocolate with a light touch of orange and tropical fruit. Huge chocolate flavor bursting with orange and lemon notes; chocolate brownies; mild booziness. Very heavy body; chewy and sludgy; immense residual sugar feel coats the palate; light alcohol warmth.

Cycle never posts the ABV for their barrel aged beers, so I'm guessing this one falls somewhere in the 10-12% ABV range. The chocolate and orange presence is at the fore and is nicely balanced with the rest of the beer's elements. The mouthfeel is amazingly dense and rich in texture. A very delightful barrel aged imperial stout with a nice touch of orange presence to add complexity to an already excellent base beer.

Pouring temperature: 45 °F; bottling info: 2022

Purchased at Brewery 11/5/22 on day of release. Poured at 54°. Black with ruby edges; tight light brown head; ok cap retention; solid ring; some sudsy lace; medium thick legs. Orange Cointreau nose followed by chocolate; boozy exhale. Taste is semi sweet chocolate, orange liqueur, bitter orange peel, bourbon with a mild oaky finish. Silky smooth feel; heat in mouth from 12% abv; medium plus body; light carbonation. Overall outstanding; this beer is like drinking chocolate orange candy at Christmas with a little bourbon. Well done.
