Tar black body, brown ring. Giant vanilla and booze nose. Taste is a vanilla bomb with the barrel only being hot instead of deep and nuanced, then a wave of vanilla crashing down once more with chocolate lightly present. I don't mean to make it sound like this beer is bad, it is quite good, but from cycle in this series I was hoping for a more dynamic stout. Feel is like good old times though: thick, heavy, chewy, and stupendously smooth in a massive body

Poured a black body with minimal khaki head that quickly died. The aroma had notes of wood, booze and vanilla. There is both a woody smoothness and vanilla sweetness in this beer, but it seemed for this beer (something I didn't notice in other Day of the Week beers) that the booze would bleed through leading the beer to be a little harsh at times and finished very dry and boozy.

I had a Monday on Monday, so why not Wednesday on Wednesday? These guys usually knock it out of the park with the day series. This one is big and sweet, strong barrel characteristics as well. Slightly thick but not syrupy, big bodied, and a booziness that silently asserts itself. Very good, as usual.

poured from a 22oz bomber into a TG DBA tumbler. pours deep black with a thin dark brown foam head that reduces down to nothing in no time. huge whiskey barrel aromas on this one with additional aromas if chocolate and vanilla. taste is big-time barrel with lots of chocolate from the base stout as well as sweet vanilla. to me, the start here is the barrels not the vanilla additions. it’s a great combination of vanilla and chocolate but the barrel character is through the roof. thick, full mouthfeel. just enough carb to it. this was excellent. i’ve long been a fan of cycle and this one here shows why. luscious vanilla sweetness and that signature cycle base stout combined with extended barrel-aging creates a superb vanilla BA stout.
