Pours deep, dark brown. Aroma is sweet dominated by cinnamon with notes of milk chocolate & coffee. Taste follows nose but with more intensity. Strong cinnamon, chocolate & coffee flavors with bourbon. Mouthfeel is full and sticky as you'd expect from a Cycle Stout. Outstanding stout.

Dark, opaque brown body capped with a thin yet lasting light brown head. Excellent aroma of cinnamon and light milk chocolate; very subtle presence of coffee. The taste follows along the lines of the aroma with stronger flavors; bold note of bourbon offsetting the chocolate and cocoa sweetness; marshmallows; cinnamon and coriander. Heavy body; chewy; velvety; dense, sludgy residual sugars; mildly sticky.

This massive brute of a beer is phenomenal. It exudes richness and complexity across the sensory spectrum.

22oz bomber into a Side Project snifter. Pours rich, viscous, pitch black. Thick, oily, clingy legs. Nose is chocolate, fudge, sweet soy sauce, and liquified prunes. Prickly spice. Chocolate, sweet soy sauce, and dried prune. Lightly tart. Bright cinnamon spice. Syrup, raisin, and more sweet soy sauce at the finish. Touch of cardboard. Body is full with low carbonation. Slick and oily on the palate and goes down syrupy. Long, lingering, filmy aftertaste.

Solid if not a bit oxidized.

Poured a black body with minimal head and lace patches down glass. The prevalent aroma is cinnamon and this overpowers the coffee and woody notes. A light to medium body with cinnamon spiciness and sweetness that is dominant flavor profile as it overpowers touches of coffee and any aspects from barrel aging like booze or wood.

Opaque black viscous pour with a pinky finger of brown foam. Smells exactly as expected: huge barrel incorporating coffee and hotter cinnamon. Taste has all these things clash a bit, booze barrel is actually really pleasant, but the adjuncts take away from it with the grounds of coffee and cinnamon spice being harsher. Fuel has weird spiciness and percolation from the adjuncts that again clash with the rich robust barrel. A great BA stout is covered up in unnecessary adjuncts, too bad

On tap, pours an impenetrable black. Smell and taste feature barrel, cinnamon and coffee, with big notes of fig and other dark fruits. Feel is thick and rich. Very, very good.

Standard appearance on the pour. Strong smelling-it was sitting a foot away from me and I could smell it plain as day. Barrel is the strongest, cinnamon is actually the second, and then coffee follows. In terms of taste, the spicy cinnamon and the bitter coffee blend well together with the barrel, but the base stout provides a sweetness that is really the star of the show. Feel is big bodied, a bit of syrupy thickness, and a mild booze burn from the barrel. These guys really bring the flavor on their barrel aged adjunct forward stouts, and this is no exception.

poured from a 22oz bomber into a snifter. pours jet black with some dark brown swirls. huge barrel and chocolate on the nose with cinnamon and light coffee. taste follows with lots of chocolate and cinnamon but very little coffee. perhaps the barrel covers it up nuts definitely more cinnamon than coffee. thick, full mouthfeel with a cinnamon drying effect to it. really stellar barrel-aged stout from cycle. i love these guys barrel-aged stuff and this is no exception. i love how chocolatey the base stout is and the barrel, which was never lacking from these guys, is massive and in your face.
