Thick, viscous pour, anthracite coal-black; carbonation bubbles oozing through the top but no head or foam per se. Dark chocolate and booze nose. Chocolate fudge, whiskey, and chili pepper notes; earthy vanilla sweetness; cinnamon, anise and black licorice. Near sludgy mouthfeel; heavy and sticky; fine boozy warmth undercurrent.

Ooh, this one takes the chill off in the 'Fortress of Solitude' this cool and windy early December day. A beer likes this pairs nicely with a sipping bourbon and a nice cigar.

ABV: unk (around 14% ± 2% per my estimation); pouring temperature: 49.3 ℉; bottling info: 2023

Poured a black body with almost no head but what was left was khaki-colored and quickly gone. You get cinnamon, vanilla and pepper in the aroma but they blend well and no complaints. Medium to heavy body that is well-balanced as at first I get a dry cinnamon and peppery spiciness that is mellowed and balanced by coconut slickness and sweetness with the sweetness added to be a decent vanilla component (possibly dark chocolate but I'm not sure). Beer has some woodiness and booziness on finish which adds to beer, including heat on the finish, and overall this is a slow sipper that hits quite a few notes and is enjoyable.

Shimmering black opaque body with no head save a tiny brown ring. Smells of vanilla, cinnamon and lesser so peppers, dancing in a molasses forward bourbon barrel, oozing semi-sweet chocolate and coconut on the edges. Taste actually pulls a switcheroo, with semi-sweet chocolate fudge leading with the bourbon, then everything else next with vanilla and coconut emerging as the lead horses of the skirmish in time for the finish, cinnamon rises and falls powerfully in the middle but fades just as fast. Feel is thick, chewy, warm, yet smooth and has texture from the cinnamon and a hint of coconut richness. A very cycle take on the style, nice and heavy!

Brownish/black, very little head, no lacing, small particulate floaties with a bit of a slick top that I’ve come to expect from there beers with coconut as an adjunct. Scents of bourbon barrel, cocoa (surprising since it’s not an adjunct), coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper are all prevalent. In terms of taste, this is yet another example of the strongest characteristic of their “day beers”: the flavors work in accordance with instead of in opposition to each other. It’s sweeter more than anything, with vanilla and coconut leading the way with a mild cocoa aftertaste, then the boozy barrel asserts itself, and they’re all accompanied by the cinnamon and pepper undercurrent. Big bodied, a slight oily thickness, a pleasant boozy burn. Really well balanced and flavorful. Another winner from the Daily Cycle.

poured from a 22oz bomber into a TG DBA tumbler. pours a shiny black with a thin dark brown foam cap that disappears quickly. barrel, cinnamon, chocolate and coconut mostly on the nose. tastes offers elements of a chocolate-forward base stout (love that from cycle stouts), smooth barrel and oak and semi sweet coconut and vanilla, all cut with the drying spice of pepper and cinnamon on the finish. at room temp the coconut, vanilla and peppers pop a little more than when a little more chilled. thick, full mouthfeel. i liked &+ when i’ve have it before. it’s not my favorite combination of adjuncts but the coconut and extended aging helps for sure.
