This is one of a pair of collaborative brews with Monkish Brewing involving our most decadent, thickest barrel-aged imperial stout we have ever made. Loads of coconut, both toasted and raw, with plenty of strawberry to round out a dessert in a glass.

Pitch black stout pour with a dark brown cap. Smell and taste both lead with the massive and rich barrel character, the molasses, dark fruit, and chocolate from the stout fit right in. Coconut, vanilla, and then light but study strawberry round out the finish, putting a distinct dessert flair on this one. The nose has more of an amalgamation of this combination, where the taste slowly moves in phases of the flavor and sweetening through the sip. But here is the cool part: it works! Truly strawberry is so fickle in stouts, but here it seems almost natural with the barrel. Feel is the usual cycle thick, sticky, viscous beast of a body, though the sweetness does start to add up. Their team may have lost the series, but we win in having this beer as a result

Pours a thick, black color; initial thin, dark brown head that quickly dissipates. Outstanding aroma of coconut and charred grain; dark chocolate; tobacco juice; a little boozy. Deep sweet and boozy taste; sweet and milk chocolate; dark, dried fruits, dates and figs; subliminal booziness. Unbelievable heavy body; rich and thickly oily; oozes silkiness and thick viscosity; relatively light note of alcohol dryness.
This is a stunning American stout collaboration. The mouthfeel is truly unbelievable with its density and smoothness. The taste and aroma are also way above par, deeply complex and nuanced.

Look - black thick syrup
Smell and taste - chcooalte and lots of barrel with some coconut and a slight strawberry
Feel - thick syrup with almost no carb
Overall - could use more carb, maybe the age has something to do with the drop

poured from a 22oz bomber into a TG DBA tumbler. pours super thick, oily black with a thin dark brown foam cap that quickly fades away. bourbon barrel, chocolate, dark fruit (almost cherry-like) and faint coconut on the nose. taste follows but the huge base stout and the barrel and coconut treatments help to mask (or compliment?) the strawberry. thick, syrupy mouthfeel with a low level of carbonation. i am not the biggest fan of fruit in my stouts. banana is tolerable every once in a while if done correctly but other than that, i’m not a fan. this wasn’t horrible though and i’ll always take a chance on cycle.
