A great breakfast beer. Super tasty. Strong notes on both nose and tongue of coffee, maple, bourbon, vanilla, a hint of smoke and dark chocolate. Syrupy presence, sweet full mouth feel, boozy. Well blended, well balanced.

Cycle. 22oz. bottle. Split with my wife.
Black & spinny. Nose is precisely as expected: gentle bourbon, chocolate, maple syrup.
Detours – Breakfast Bruleé is lead-heavy on the syrup. It interacts with the barrel as to almost multiply the effect of the bourbon, oddly. The bourbon taste is intense, without the attendant heaviness or booziness. Thick caramel, & heavy malts weigh on the stomach. Coffee is MIA. The finish grows to extreme sweetness that’s limiting; my wife didn’t like it & I’m not sure I can drink 18+ ounces.
Dialing the sweetness back from 12 to 8 might have flung this into greatness. As is, still an excellent brew.

poured from a 22oz bomber into a TG DBA tumbler. pours thick and oily black with a thin layer of mocha brown foam head that recedes into a thick collar around the glass. light bourbon barrel with rich chocolate and maple syrup on the nose. breakfast vibes for sure. taste offers a little more coffee than the nose but i think it gets a little overshadowed by the chocolate-forward base stout, the barrel and the maple. still, really tasty. thick and full mouthfeel. almost sticky. damn good stuff.

Poured a black body with minimal head and lace. The aroma has notes of booze but the caramel and syrup really come through. Heavy body, sticky, a mix of maple syrup sweetness and dryness, and the maple syrup (which avoids being "meaty") mixes with mild coffee for good balance. These flavors are complemented by a heated booziness on the finish and this is a very enjoyable, and very slow, sipper that is worth trying when they have it on tap (or a bottle).
