A - It looks great; a sheenless brown-black capped with a voluminous tan head, depositing significant lace all the way down the glass.

S -The nose is toasty and nutty with a balancing but mild green non-specific hop flavor. As it airs out, the hop reveals itself to be herbal, resinous and a bit catty.

T - The flavor exhibits tremendous balance between the toasty black base and the pungently bitter hop addition. Notes of celery, pine and cannabis linger atop a base that offers general roasted tones and perhaps some faint coffee or chicory notes as well.

M - Big body, great creaminess, well done.

O - This is a very solid offering, as are all of Peg's beers.
