I swear it seems like there’s always a fresh Cycle day of the week beer on Tavour, and I’ve bought a lot of them. Mondays look like they are my favorite day when you average out the ratings (I didn’t do the actual math, but most of the ones I’ve had are all around or over 4.5). This one is pretty good too. The coconut and almond presence are assertive and the barrel makes itself known on the nose, taste, and feel. Big bodied and boozy, with a slight thickness and oiliness that might be the only problem with it. Otherwise, damn good.

Pitch black pour with a brown head. Chocolate fudge, the title nuts, and bourbon make up the powerful nose. Taste as it smells, the almond stands out to make an amaretto boozy second half of the sip that’s really satisfying, vanilla and lesser so caramel are added I would say. Typical thick and heavy body yet boozy feel for cycle. Yum! A dessert stout that hits all the promised notes

poured from a 750mL bottle into a perennial snifter. pours a thick and inky black with a few coconut floaties plus a thin layer of mocha brown foam that quickly fades away. lots of spirit barrel on the nose with this one as well as a nutty chocolate aroma. not a ton of coconut on the nose. i almost get light cinnamon on the nose but it has to be the barrels. taste of more chocolate and coconut, although the coconut is certainly on the light side. it’s still really tasty. not overly sweet and lots of bourbon barrel flavors. thick, full mouthfeel. another winner from cycle.
