Look - Pours a rich black color with almost no head.

Smell - Malt, vanilla, and bitter dark chocolate on the nose, with a light hint of bourbon.

Taste - Taste is bourbon, malt, and bitter dark chocolate. I'm not getting much peanut flavor as described on the bottle.

Feel - Very creamy, but kind of bitter for my personal liking.

Overall - I didn't care for this as much as I had hoped.

This is the 4th vintage I’ve had of Cycle’d Tuesday, and it’s gotten better every year. It helps using 2 year Rare Dos as the base beer. It literally sounded thick when I poured it. Dark brown colors. Smell is pure bourbon barrel with very strong notes of dark malt and vanilla. Taste is bittersweet, malty, with very assertive barrel and vanilla flavors, a slight chocolate presence too. Big, bold body, mouth watering finish. ABV (apparently 13%) is well disguised. There’s a taste in there I don’t quite like (or may even recognize, but it may be the chocolate), but other than that, it’s a great beer.

poured from a 750mL bottle into a perennial snifter. pours jet black with a finger of mocha brown foam that quickly fades away. sharp bourbon, chocolate and vanilla on the nose. taste follows but as it warms the bourbon gives way to rich chocolate chip cookies. there’s still a smooth bourbon element to the finish but the vanilla comes off as more chocolate than anything else. super rich but super good. thick, full mouthfeel. nice balance of bourbon barrel, base stout and chocolaty vanilla. cycle rules.
