Poured from 12 oz. bottle into half liter glass. It pours a hazy, golden-yellow color with a thick, frothy bright white head and lacing. Tiny bubbles ascend the glass giving it a champagne quality. The nose is strongly rye forward, along with yeast esters, bready malt, and lemon peel. The taste is somewhat sour and the lemon is more apparent in the taste than in the smell. There are also rye and wheat cracker notes, along with banana and coriander. It has a clean hop presence without any real bitterness and it's nicely tangy. The mouth feel is crisp and light with lively carbonation and the 5.6% ABV is surprisingly potent. Overall, this is a well-crafted and enjoyable Roggenbier.
