Faith, Hope, and Charity. The backdrop of Central Oregon features these lovely sisters which are three of the highest peaks in Oregon. We use three main types of malt and hops to represent these Central Oregon landmarks. This beautiful beer has a sunset red appearance to remind us of their presence at the end of the day. Like many peaks you might aspire to climb, these sisters can be both bitter and sweet, as the select hops represent the Northwest in every way possible.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Wasn't expecting much, but thus is damn good. Very dark amber, small head leaves sheets if lacing. Aroma us malts, brown bread, toffee. Taste is wonderful malt flavors, not sweet, kind of earthy. Dry, light bitterness lingers. A real nice surprise

Pint from Westside Taphouse in West Salem OR.
$6
Lovely looking ale. Reddish brown body with a well proportioned cream coloured head.
Good toasted brown bread and citrus/ pine hop aromas.
Taste had substantial toasty malts but also big hopping. They balance well but still keeps the interest.
Mouth feel free s good. Medium to heavy body. Well carbonated. Not too sweet a finish.
Very nice old style Amber.

nowhere near as good as the belgian dark i had from these guys last week, i was getting my hopes up perhaps prematurely, this one is a little bit lackluster, although anything but generic in a style that tends to be quite dull. its almost more irish than american to me, with an appreciable old world yeast element and some definite minerals, even a metallic coppery tang at the end, well substantiated by some drier kilned type red malt, and hearty as they go, i think its a nice recipe, but the execution could be a little more professional. it has a little tang to it, even a sting in the finish as it warms which makes it come across kind of cheap. there is nice malt depth in the flavor though, nutty like almonds, a brown sugar flavor but not residual sweetness, and a sort of protein rich feel, fuller and interesting, i wish it was a little cleaner on the fermentation side, that would really aid sessionability. hops are minimal and traditional, yeast is curious but cool, and the beer overall is decent, although this kind of red is really not in vogue right now, and it tastes sort of antiquated too. i had higher hopes for this after loving their belgian cloak, but its a fine pint if you like this sort of thing. at least its not boring...

Had this on draft. A sturdy above average red ale with a great dank hop aroma and a nice earthy hop bite. Mouth coating in maltiness and not to dry or sweet well balanced. If you like red ales as I do try this you won't be disappointed.
