Jim's Stout is a traditional Dry Irish Stout pushing forward round and silky coffee, chocolate and toffee malt aroma and body. Its bitterness is delicate and balance a fine art. Finishes dry, as a Dry Irish Stout should.

Copenhagen 1/7 2018. 50 cl bottle from Lidl, Lygten, Kbh NV. As “The Crafty Brewing Company Irish Stout”. A mustache getting yanked on the label.
Pours opaque dark brown with a medium-sized light beige head. Settles as a thin, almost transparent layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is roasted, full and dark. Dark roasted malt, caramel and coffee with light hint of smoke.
Soft carbonation. Medium thick, creamy, smooth texture. Soft and velvety.
Flavor is fairly sweet followed by a weaker but distinct coffee bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with bitter notes. Finish is semi-dry.
Light stout with a lot of aroma and taste and a soft touch. Good quality for a fairly modest price.

Poured from the tap into a McGargles glass. Dark amber when held to light, with pretty good clarity. Aroma is of soft grains, roasted malt and a bit of ripe fruit. The taste is roasty, toasty, slightly bitter with a hint of dusty cocoa. Smooth and well rounded brew, I sampled both Nitro and CO2 versions and both good, though the CO2 carried much more aroma and taste. At it's best the beer is variably smooth in the feel, with a nice mild to medium carbonation level. Drinkable and quite tasty. Very good Irish Pub Stout, no matter where you are.
