350ml can brought to me by mr-jj. Bottom of the can is stamped with 132309 1412[kanji] ALM8, whatever that means.
Pours black, initially with a small head but seems to be growing slowly over time, which is odd, but kind of neat. Lots of extremely fine carbonation moving very slowly. Smell is anise, a little burnt toast, something very grainy that I can't quite identify.
Taste is also strange, but not bad. Less of the anise, and only a muted burnt toast flavor, but much more of that unidentifiable graininess.
Mouthfeel is thick and rich. Overall, a very interesting beer.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, dark fruit, sesame seed, and slight cigarette butt aromas that dissipate as the beer warms up. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, dark fruit, sesame candy, earth, char, and alcohol flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with an interesting mix of ingredients that make for some unique aromas and flavors.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear extremely dark brown approaching jet black in color with light to moderate amounts of gentle visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and some cola brown highlights. The beer has a three finger tall foamy tan head that reduces to a medium sized medium thick patch of medium sized bubbles and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of sesame seed, soybean, and something vaguely vegetal with a lighter aroma of currants.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of chocolate + roasted malts (though I believe this is the combination of sesame seeds and rice producing this flavor). That is followed by something lightly vegetal, likely from the soybeans. Finally there is a light flavor of currants with a hint of anise/licorice as the beer warms up.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: A very interesting take on a porter - the combination of ingredients is unlike any other porter that I have tried. The flavors work really well together and are quite harmonious. Enjoyable and easy to drink.

A: The beer is essentially black in color—only traces of brown are visible near the edge of the glass when it is held up to a bright light. It poured with a quarter finger high light beige head. The head did down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sesame seeds and soybeans are present in the nose.
T: The taste has some flavors that resemble chocolate malts but seem to be more vegetable-like in taste. Slight hints of currants are noticeable in the finish. Bits of licorice also become perceptible as the beer warms up.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite unlike any other porter I've had, but the ingredients all seem to come together and lend interesting flavors.

T: Coffee, sweet like an Imperial Russian stout, big chocolate, Kailua, fruity, grape.
M: Thick, syrupy, oily, light carbonation.
O: Unique, especially for the style. Got in Chiang Mai, drank Feb 19th, 2015. Really unique so it makes me want to keep drinking. Imperial qualities in a porter.
