From the 22 oz bottle in a snifter via my co-worker Tony---Cheers brother---know you looked hard for a good
Christmas gift----this one nails it!

Pouring a murky blackish brown with subtle cola highlights, this fine "Baltic" showcases a nice rich tan foam
that subsides to a thick ring, thin subtle pool, and displays very nice soapy lacing. Nose of oak, bourbon,
subtle vanilla, rich cocoa, dark brewed coffee, and subtle booze. Flavors top the nose with a solid liquid dark
and lightly sweetened fudge flavor awash in dark brewed coffee that is touched with light charred cream (brulee)
subtle marshmallow, toffee, and rich bourbon nuances that are far from overpowering but balanced. Sweet
bourbon pours over light notes of barrel and subtle mild toasted coconut (!) awash in vanilla goodness. Exceptional
mouthfeel; full body, low carbonation, and a lightly boozy (well hidden) rich finish of cocoa, coffee, and bourbon .

A "WOW" beer from a solid brewery.

A stout drinkers porter who fell into a bourbon barrel.

Exceptional.

Cheers

Connecting with the Gallenstein family of the greater Cincinnati fame, a flavor that's tied to the common bourbon barrel aged imperial stout take on a slight tweak. While staying strong and dark, the base beer isn't a stout at all; instead, a Baltic-style porter comes through with a softer roast profile to highlight those barrels masterfully.

Black as night and crowned with a mocha whipped meringue, the beer's scent rolls onto the senses with decadent chocolates, dark roast coffee, caramel and cream; suggestive of tiramisu. Grilled fruit and a light vinous twang accompanies nutty barrel nuances before landing at a taste of blackstrap molasses, caramel, toffee, toast and walnut.

While the sweetness relaxes on the middle palate, the darker elements of grain take on those burnt toast, bittersweet chocolate and near espresso flavors. Soothing flavors of heavy cream, vanilla and coconut pull the taste into a long finish of bourbon spice, barrel caramels, vanillans and cherry oak. Dark fruits of grape, currant and plum trail into a slight twang of sherry wine and port.

Succulent, savory and lavishly full on the tongue, the beer's rich body makes it as much a replacement for dessert as anything would in pairing. Simmering alcohols act like a kaluha and whisky marriage while a long and unrelenting aftertaste of dark chocolate and vinous booze chase espresso and campfire into waves and waves of flavor on the after palate.
