As the second runnings of the "party-gyle" technique of brewing a big and little beer, the beer that was once the Belgian style tripel ale has its remnants to manifest in this guava and pomegranate infused taste that's much more than left overs.
Bubbly and bright, the golden ale that pours comes with a bubbling froth, white and persistent. Muted aromas suggest apple, lemon and orange with those faint tropical notes and a light peppery twinge. To taste, the ale is short in sweetness, cracker-llike and rounded with a hint of honey.
As the scant sweetness trails, the fruitiness and spiciness govern the short middle palate. Apple, orange and pear invite the exotic fruitiness of guava for a slight margarita taste. Pomegranate offers a berry-ike twinge of tartness and robust character that's elusive up against a peppery finish of grassy hops, yeast derived white pepper, paradise seed and clove.
Light in body, the exuberant ale lays a light carbonic bite on the tongue and highlights the mineral tone of the beer's finish. Crisp, clean and highly refreshing, the beer trails like seltzer water and a grainy, dry, spicy after tow in a short linger afterwards,
