Tradition and innovation - the perfect harmony. A tale of transformation, this apple ale was picked fresh from the farm, crafted in the Braxton garage and aged for over 8 months in brandy barrels from Copper & Kings Distillery.
Complementary notes of brandy and oak create a medley of wine-like apple overtones resulting in an aromatic, slightly tart and sophisticated apple ale.

22 ounce orange wax capped bomber. From what I could find online it looks like this was a late 2018 release, purchased this a couple months ago at a Liquor Barn in Louisville, KY. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a mostly clear golden/orange color with about an inch white head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing at all. I like the aroma, the brew smells like apples, brandy, oak, white wine and earthiness. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some honey. To me it kinda has a mead/white wine/cider flavor to it. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and enjoyable to drink with a good amount of carbonation. Not overly boozy either considering it's 12.1% ABV. I thought this was a good overall brew, definitely worth picking up especially if you're into apple and/or brandy barrel aged ales.
