Pours black, tan head.
Aroma of anise, some papaya and guava. Gives way to coffee and chocolate. Complex.. not muddled though, there is a clear shift of aromas.
Taste brings a general fruityness, and a general roasty malt character. More coffee on the finish. Good bitterness, full bodied.
A very interesting stout and a snip at 1.50 a can.

330ml Can from Aldi supermarket (£1.49):
Enjoyable stuff from Drygate & definitely one of their better beers, I've been impressed with a few from the brewery over the last year or so & this one is no exception. There's some nice roasted malts & darker flavours in the early going before the beer balances out with some floral & pine hops starting to come through towards the middle. It was a very smooth & , as such, easy beer to drink with good variety to it; definitely one I'd have again.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
