On tap at Resurgence Brewing Company in Buffalo, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not really much lacing.
This smells like brandy dark fruit sweetness, some oak, sweet milk chocolate, and a touch of saltiness and breadiness.
I liked this one a lot more than I expected for sure. It's got a really nice barrel character, with some vinous fruitiness and lots of oak added to the base. It's also quite chocolatey, with an (appopriately) subtle pretzel character, adding a touch of salt and bready bitterness to the back end.
The main flaw here is that the beer is pretty thin, but it's not boozy, and it's pretty drinkable.
I didn't expect to like this one, but it honestly came out pretty good.
