Picked this up recently at Cable Beverage as this was first beer that I ever saw from Resurgence. Love the name and can design and yeah, the liquid on the inside wasn't too bad either as this was a perfectly serviceable and enjoyable take on a New England IPA that was easy to drink and not over the top in any way!
Not a bad pour to this as this was plenty cloudy, not overly bright, and a faded golden in hue. Tons of fluffy head topped it off as it had to be one of the slowest-settling caps of foam that I've seen in quite some time. The aroma was muted but full of gumdrop, mango, papaya, bright orange, and turbid apricot as the taste was just as deep, bitter, and slightly slick on the palate. A mild and soothing burn kicked in once this started going down as it got more dank and dewy like a wet forest while remaining true to stylistic form. Good array of hops here with the Vic Secret, Cashmere, and Amarillo coming through equally.
Hard to pick out the melon but this was slick like berry juice and with the low amount of alcohol, the dankness of the stone fruit and hint of pineapple in the aftertaste were really allowed to shine and linger until I finished this off. No date was given on the bottom of the can but Instagram has this being released at the end of March, and only a few bits of dark sediment settled at the bottom of my pint glass. In a crowded category, this was a fun take on the style that would call for another, and fresher, can to allow for further refining and imbibing!
