yet another little upstart operation in the rino district, this one is going to work though, because their beer is cool and their model is too. apparently they brew up batches, and age a portion in various barrels, so there is always a base beer and a barrel aged on on tap. this is only loosely a baltic porter in my world, clearly fermented with ale yeast not lagered, but its got some of the right flavors and feels nevertheless. definitely english porter style on the yeast front, and both light and rich in the body. its not heavy beer, but the flavors are dense and layered, with chocolate and roast, but even a blueberry hint in there. lets some light through and shows a dark red glow in bright light, the head is an inch high, thick, light brown, and never settles. creamy feel on a body thats maybe a touch too light for the flavor composition, but it really feels great. it adds to its session potential. cool beer, not mind bending, but well made. the only thing about this is that the barrel aged version of this is so incredible it renders this beer forgettable, which i guess is a good problem to have. these guys are on to something...
