On tap at the brewery into a tulip-style glass.
A-The beer is dark for the style and deep amber (looks more like an ESB). It is somewhat murky with a short greyish-white head that drops quickly and leaves no lacing. The beer is nearly still in the glass.
S-The aroma is pretty clean with an earthy grain flavor, some malted barley scent, and a bit of honey sweetness. Not much hop flavor.
T-The taste is similar to the smell: sort-of earthy, light sweetness that suggests honey, malted barley, and a bit of nuttiness. Hops are faint, but there is a growing bitterness on the finish.
M-The body is robust (not heavy) with a lower level of carbonation. Very easy to drink.
O-This beer is on the maltier end of the style and it may be more fair to call it an ESB. There is nothing offensive here, but there is nothing wonderful about the flavor profile either. The mouthfeel is quite good and the beer goes down easy, but it is a bit high in ABV for a true English-style session beer.
