i really dug this one, but man is it one weird beverage. it smells a little cheesy, and looks orange and clear compared to other gose types i have experienced. it smells like an odd lacto quick souring, not real puckery or anything, just enough to make the mouth water, not too intense. the agave flavor is lush and strong, wood right beneath it, booze aroma but not in the taste, and a little more grain flavor than a lot of these have. its so interesting and dynamic, and the weird cheap cheese thing is gone from the nose. its cleaner than i expected, but still very woody. almost tastes more like a blanco than anything that would have spent time on oak. very delicate for being this flavorful. the tequila is obvious, and its neat in the gose, very different from the one fate does in boulder, which is the only other tequila barrel aged gose i can think of that i have had. good carbonation but it could be higher. it could even use a little more acidity, but this is a barrel aged beer that can be crushed glass after glass. the beer here at beryls has gotten so good, who does nobody talk about these guys?! so much better than places far more popular in the neighborhood. makes no sense...

This beer is awesome. A well balanced tart Gose base with light saltiness marries well with the floral tequila barrel. Aged just the right amount of time to pick up on all of the right barrel tones without the tequila overriding the Gose base beer. Really well done
