Very good for a pale ale.. just a bit mild compared to the IPA's I normally drink (as expected). My hop passion has influenced this review..

frustrated by this beer, which seems to be plagued by consistency issues in the early going for these guys. the first time i had it, it was a light and dry almost ipa, brimming with new zealand type high alpha juicy hops. it was amazing, and i had several. each successive time i have returned for this beer, it has seemed dumbed down enormously, with the hops losing all of their uniqueness, the beer taking on more body, and losing its zippy drinkability. i dont know if the recipe is changing, a dry hop got forgotten, or if they just cant quite get it dialed in again, but the original batch was phenomenal, and has gone down hill since. maybe just older beer sitting around? it wouldnt make sense, they are small enough and busy enough that this must just be a batch consistency issue. i will keep trying though, because it was really a brilliant brew when they opened.

On-tap at the brewery into a perfect pint glass.

A-My pour arrives with a thin white film of a head that sticks around for a bit. There is some fine lacing left by the collar on the glass as I drink. The beer is clear and sort-of a brassy, golden color. Unremarkable looking but not offensive by any means.

S-The aroma is bready with pale malts dominating. There is some honey and sweetness, as well as a touch of grain. Not much in the way of hops, just a hint of vague, citrus flavors. Plain smelling.

T-And plain tasting, too. I get some cereal grain, honey, white bread, and muddled light hoppy flavors that fade in and out. Just hints of dry grass and orange. The beer is sweet and malty for the style.

M-The body is thicker and heavier than average with a light hit of carbonation.

O-This beer is a bit underwhelming. I know that the style doesn't lend itself to wild flavors or intensity, but this brew felt poorly constructed and lacked the sort of hop presence needed for balance. Not my favorite....
