West Slope Connection Vol. 2 is Oak Theory aged in freshly dumped red wine barrels from our friends at Mr. B's in Denver, CO. We then blended the barrels and added whole, fresh Primitivo grapes from Palisade, CO.

Primitivo grapes. Snifter glass. Darker purple-reddish body, one finger white head, great retention, bit of lacing. Smell is grape must, slightly tannic, leather, lemon, touch of hay, moderate acetic acidity, peach, a touch of citrus zest. A little bit of cereal sweetness. A lot going on here, and it integrates really nicely on the palate. It's not insanely complex, as the wine grape character is pretty forward here, but as it warms up, the Oak Theory base shines a bit more, providing a nice acetic bite, lemon and stonefruit, and a touch of leather to complement the grape skins. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, lovely grape finish.
