8/21/2017 vintage. Slightly cloudy light yellow body, one finger white head, not much retention or lacing. Smell is acidic lemon, a bit of peach fuzz, touch of leather, house mineral, light oak, grain. Flavour follows, a bit lighter on the peach than expected. More lemony and acidic than even the standard saison. Mouthfeel is medium lighter bodied, crisp and refreshing, moderately acetic finish. Solid Fruit Stand, a bit more acetic than typical for Casey saisons; I think a bit more peach fruit sweetness would have gone a long way.

this is still a great beer, but it is my least favorite of the peach fruit stands i have had to date, whether or not they all use different types of peaches or the batches just vary tremendously, this latest iteration is weaker than the others. i know nothing about red haven peaches other than that this is colorado fruit, but they have an almost overripe complexion to them, past juicy to pre-rotting it smells like to me, which is only exacerbated by the acidity in here, although this seems far less sour (or funky) than most other fruit stand beers i have had. the peaches are flavorful sure, but its not that essence of summer ripeness, and they seem to overtake some of the yeast nuance of the base beer, which is much to its detriment in my opinion. its also less carbonated from the tap, which i dont love in a beer like this, not flat, but short of the dancing on the tongue experience i like in saisons and wild ales. the peach tastes better than it smells, but still isnt as vibrant as past batches of this. moderate pucker to finish, the fuzzy peach skins, and a lemon note as well. great from anyone else, average by casey standards, even in this series...

Red Haven Peach bottled 8/21/17. When I first opened the bottle I watched as the carbonation pushed the yeast in the bottle up to the top like crazy so I did not get clean pours, very hazy with bits at the bottom of the glass. Nice peach aroma, slight touch of cereal. Flavor is really, really good peach backed up by a touch of cereal grains. Mild funk, very mild. Not really sour, slightly tart. This might be the tastiest Casey beer I have had so far, I was almost ready to give up on buying their bottles.
