another killer peach beer from casey, bottled in 2015 and drinking incredibly well right now. i am not personally familiar with elberta peaches as a fruit, but i sure love what they do in this beer. a relatively clear golden base, yellowish brassy gold in the right light, short head but fizzy still, and with a really pungent nose of briney acidity and fresh cut ripe yellow peaches. sweet for a flash but then taken over by the clean bacterial sourness and white wine intensity. the flavor is awesome too, perhaps a little less peach to it than the nose has, but more and more of it is there as it warms, and its weighted most heavily towards the finish, where the peach equals the acidity just for a moment before the whole thing dries up. lots of wood to this too, new at times and white winey at others, very light in body, slightly saline or something too, minerals and slate and earthiness that isnt musty or wet. gorgeous carbonation, lots of life, clean as i swallow it, but it comes back in layers of peach flesh and oak and lingers on the tongue. an enormously delicious brew, i wish i got to try it fresh too, but its drinking exquisitely at this time, thanks to claystation for sharing it this weekend!

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a hazy straw hue with a thin white head that fades to leave light wisps.

S - Big aromas of peaches and skins, however, there is a fair amount of cheesy funk that really clashes with the peach. As it warms the peach pops a bit more.

T - Taste is similar to the nose with decent cheesy funk getting in the way of the peaches. Really juicy and tart. Bright peaches galore.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, crisp lightly flemmy.

O - Overall this was a rather solid wild peach beer with nice tart sweet notes. Good peach though cheesy funk is a bit much.

Big thanks to rudzud, bottled 10/6/15

Light fizzy head fades quickly, semi clear light color neon slight greenish yellow color

Nose fair cheesy funk out front, letting it air out brings more cheesy funk, lots of it, then a little lemony tartness, funky bready dough and grassy like fresh cut grass, mild peachy notes, stone fruit, peach increases as it goes, eventually becomes basically all peach.

Taste mild sweetness, tart acidity but not super sour, a little funky note, cheesy funk out front again, lemony grape notes, plenty of fruit skin, fair peachy flavors, a peach skin and green under ripe peach, mild bitter grassy hop, flemmy and fair acidity, finishes dry but big buttery oak, little flemmy acidic funk and tart peach lingering

Mouth is med bod, decent but milder carb, fair acidity little flemmy

Overall not bad, not nearly as good as the last peach sour from Casey.
