Pours an opaque light yellow-orange color with fine white head. Smells of mango and passionfruit, slight hint of gooseberries. Flavor is a balance of malt & tropical notes with average and not overpowering Sauvignon Blanc wine grape notes. Not as strong gooseberry/white grape must as other 100% Nelson IPAs I've had which is nicely balanced with the malts so it's not straight juice nor overpowering but easy drinking. When I asked ABV and they told me it was 9% I was floored. Finish is so soft and medium-bodied I could have sworn it wasn't over 7%. Again, I was super impressed at the quality of their first IPA. Well-made for sure.
