Broken Goblet Brewing Company "Under Her Spell"
$3/half pint on tap at the brewery on 14 April 2018
Notes: Listed at 8.8% abv. Fairly clear golden-amber in color beneath a short head of white. Average head retention and lacing. Sweetish grainy malt, some light spice, and banana esters in the nose. The flavor follows with perhaps some citrus and a bit of grassiness as well. It's moderately bitter but balanced with a touch of sweetness in the finish. Listed as a saison it really should be drier. The alcohol has a presence but doesn't really show - nor should it at just 8.8%. It's interesting with the banana adding in an additional note that you don't usually find, while at the same time it lacks a little bit on the saison character (spiciness and other fruits). Medium to medium-light in body, and gently crisp then smooth. Worth trying.
