16 oz can from SC served in a Belgian snifter.
Appearance. This has a slightly hazy reddish-brown body with a decent, semi-durable off-white head.
Aroma. Wood, whisky, toffee, light spicing.
Flavor. About as expected, with unmistakable barrel aging effects and a solid malt base. The flavor is more harmonious and less woody than the aroma suggests.
Mouthfeel. Smooth medium body with light carbonation.

16oz undated can poured into a super thistle glass at fridge temp 8% ABV per can label. The beer pours somewhat bright, dull dark amber in color with khaki head. The head recedes to a thin cap, but sticks and doesn't fall out. Negligible lacing. The aroma is mild with notes of bourbon and barrel, toffee and toasted malt. The taste is semisweet, yet woody, with plenty of oak barrel tannins and rich malt. Mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with less than medium carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, very good. Not a lot of barrel, but tasty.

Pours a nice dark amber color. Off white, 1 finger head. The retention is pretty good here, and there's a nice ring of foam around the glass as it dissipates.
The nose has notes of caramel. I am also getting some sweet malts. I also get a hint of cherry as well.
The taste I'm getting a lot of cherry on it, and that's up front. The caramel comes in on the backside.
Slightly boozy feeling, but not too much. There's a lot of carbonation in this beer. The cherry flavor tartness lingers.
Very interesting beer, and I'm very happy to get the chance to try it.

Note: This version bought in fall of 2019 has 10 ABV on the bottle.

Look: It pours cooper with reddish hues. It has a slightly off white head. Head retention is low.

Aroma: It has a sweet aroma that is lead by caramel, toffee and dried cherries. There is a note of alcohol in the nose.

Taste: The flavors are malty with caramel, toffee and strong cherry. There are also some plum flavors in the background.

Feel: It has a medium body with a sweetish aftertaste. The alcohol warming is very smooth.

Overall, the fruit esters and dark fruit elements as stronger than most in the same category which adds a different dimension to this Wee Heavy.

L: Had this beer on-tap, poured into a snifter at Revelry's tasting room. Had a muddy brown color and a thick consistency. There was a small amount of foamy, off white head that lasted a fair amount of time. Pretty good lacing.

S: A sweet, sugary aroma with lots of caramel and some malt as well.

T: Tasted of malt, light notes of dark fruit (raisins, figs), caramel, toffee, and a tinge of hops in the finish. A big, sweet, well-balanced flavor. Lots of complexity and character. The caramel and toffee take center stage, but the other ingredients are well-represented as well.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a somewhat slick finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A well made, easy to drink Scotch Ale. Very, very enjoyable, especially on a cold winter's night.

Arrives very dark brown with orange edges. Small, off-white head withlittle retention.
Smell is sweet, malty, caramel, treacle, rum. Great balance.
Taste is sweet, almost too sweet. Rum, malt, caramel, a wee hint of fruit. Again, great balance.
Full bodied, lightly effervesced. Near cloying on the palate but forgivable. Delicious.
