Marsh Hen has a medium, creamy, white head and a somewhat hazy, golden appearance, with minimal lacing. The aroma is of white bread. The flavor is of lemony, sweet white bread, with moderate hop bitterness. Marsh Hen has a medium body and a dry finish.

I liked this more than I thought. Lighter colored than I expected with not much of a head on the pour from can to mug. Light and floral/spice which reminded me of some German ales. Not too sweet as well, do not let the "cream" in the name fool you!

Creamy and a little hoppy. As I drink it it has very interesting lingering flavors. Very impressed, favorite cream beer I have tried so far.

Had Marsh Hen at Port of Call, Charleston, on draft into tumbler.

Pours light yellow-gold with clarity and 1/2-finger near-white head, which soon drops to a persistent ring, and leaves specks of lace down the glass. Aromas of sweet malt and a bit of spice off pour, then some florals, over continuing sweet malt. On tasting, begins with a little carbonation bite and a bit of surprising spice, over classic cream ale sweet malt, then some florals, before a nicely crisp, perhaps even a bit citrusy, but still full, malty finish.

A bit of hop spice and a little more malt character than usual distinguish this satisfying cream ale.
