Appearance - Pours a chestnut brown with two fingers of creamy tan head.
Smell - Caramel malts, toffee, brown sugar, hint of citrus hops, earthy hops, and molasses.
Taste - Caramel malts and toffee followed by citrus and earthy hops. Touch of molasses and nuttiness. A little bit of pine needle as well.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes dry with lingering sweetness from malts and bitterness from citrus hops.
Overall - One of the better American brown ales that I've had in quite some time. An excellent balance of sweet and rich caramel malts and bitter citrus hops, a characteristic which makes this a standout.
