Hazy orange-red; well within the range of rosé wines. Exuberant foaming on the pour but it dropped down very quickly; the head is more like a soft drink. Left a couple of spots of lace on the glass. High flux of mixed size bubbles rising from the bottom and on the side of the glass.
Smells slightly musty with a little fruit. Swirling the glass kicked up a little more fruit so it smelled a bit like a rosé wine. Very faint scents.
Really not a lot of flavor to start. Starts out a tiny bit sweet. Mildly bitter tannins take over with a little berry fruit. A typical funky sour taste of a saison shows up late. The aftertaste is like a typical saison sour funk with a bit of fruit and tannins added. The flavor builds up after drinking half a glass.
Starts with high carbonation, but flattens out after half a glass. Very frothy. High tannins give it a fuzzy velvet feel, just like a young red wine.
Very interesting experiment. The saison base blends well with the fruit and tannins coming from the grape skins. The end result is much closer to a very sparkling rosé wine than a beer. I tried this at about 12-13 degrees C. This might be more appropriate served a bit colder, although the very slight scent will be even milder when colder.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
