The beer pours a deep brown to black color, the head average in size, creamy in texture and the color a winsome light chocolate, with the reaming lace a sticky sheet to meld with the glass. Sweet aroma of toasted grain, hints of caramel, and a fresh pleasing nut like quality also noticed, start sweet and rich, top full. Finish is mildly carbonated, pleasantly spiced by the hops and a bittersweet chocolate dry aftertaste, a quite decent middle of the road stout.
