A: crystal clear; bronze in color; 1+ finger finely pored light tan head that receded to a skim cap with a thick collar; very nice lacing;

S: toasty with dark fruit;

T: malt sweet, but not cloying at all; rich; dark fruit; a bit of bitterness at the end that is more than balanced by the sweetness;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; dry finish; alcohol is warming, but not hot;

O: deceptively easy to drink;

This is an excellent and drinkable Dopplebock. I poured it into a 16 oz. based glass that kind of looks like a sundae glass. First it was about 2/3 foam and after about 30 seconds it had an inch head and the glass was half full. I think I poured about 3/5 of the 12 oz can into the glass.
It tastes like a Marzen with umph and it is just as good looking as your favorite Marzen. It is quaffableable which is great for a 9.2% beer. Mouth feel is slick and clingy at the same time. The aroma is subtle, malty with a schtickle of hops.
Ayinger Billy Goat is the only other strong bock I've drunk that is in the same league as Wududator. I'll usually choose Wududator if available because it packs a puch, it's made close by and it makes me want more the way a Marzen makes me want more. It's 9.2% which is more fun than a Marzen. Actually, this is kind of like grown up Schnitzengigles which is also underrated on Beer Advocate.
The head dissipated by the time I finished this review so I poured the rest of the can into the glas and now it has a nice head again.

Sampling a cold growler poured into a snifter. The growler was filled up at the brewery. The beer pours a clear mahogany color with some ruby highlights when held up to the light. A fizzy beige head foams up 1 cm and fades to nothing soon after the pour.
The aroma on this beer is lots of malt with grainy malt and brown sugar mixing with some caramel and a bit of dark fruit, plum I think.
First sip reveals an average body with crisp texture and a spacious yet tingly carbonation.
The first sip reveals some caramel and light chocolate notes, I also find a little bit of a roasted malt note. There are no hops anywhere that I can find here, and I also dont get the alcohol anywhere on this beer.
Definitely some lingering chocolate and toasted malt notes too. This is an easy drinking and pretty complex malt centric brew. Glad I got a chance to try this one and hope other maltys, go find it at NEBCO too!

Had on tap a few times at Donovan's Reef in Branford. Rich dark copper color, nearing a brown ale in SRM. Thin white head, decent aroma of bread and lager yeast, some underlying resin. Taste is a smack of caramel sweetness, lots of grain, finishing with some clean lager yeast notes, slightly bitter. Overall I've had better from NEBCO, but this was a decent doppelbock with no complaints.
