Poured from a bottle from December.
Smell and taste really soaked up a lot from the barrels. Lots of peaty scotch character and smooth bourbon go well with the dark honey-sweet malts. Feels to me to be very little boozy-ness considering the level of flavors (there's definitely some alcohol here but it's smooth and well-balanced).
Very solid and well done! I'm really enjoying this, I wish I had bought more than one bottle when they had it on!

On tap at EBF in Boston, MA.
This one pours a clear light amber, with a small head, and no lacing.
This smells sugary sweet malt, with barrel sugar, oak, bourbon, dark fruit, and caramel.
I don't get the scotch barrels a ton here, it's mostly a very sweet but tasty barleywine with lots of sweet bourbon character. I got sugar coated raisins, Turtle candy, and toffee, with a bit of maple as well.
This is kind of syrupy, with a lower level of carbonation. It's definitely a slow sipper, even at only 2 oz.
This is an interesting little (big) beer, but it definitely needs a little bit of refine
