A: very slight haze; medium gold in color; 1+ finger finely pored ivory head that receded to a wispy cap; nice lacing;
S: more aromatic than most kolschs; bread dough, lemon, and grass;
T: nicely balanced between bread dough and lemon to the middle; lemony tartness comes in then and fades away by the finish;
M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: initially, I didn't care for the lemon tartness, but with each sip, I enjoyed it more;

Poured into Blue Moon branded weizen glass that I got for free from my local package store.
L: Goldenrod pour with just the slightest haze. Massive three-finger fine white head off a tilted "please stop foaming" slow pour. A plethora of bubble streamers around the narrow base of the glass rise quickly to maintain the head which slowly dissipates to and retains a half-finger as the beer recedes in the glass leaving tons of lace. This is a gorgeous beer.
S: The aroma is typical Nebco grainy malt character, but dialed back a bit. There are also some light notes of fresh cut grass mixed with citrus and papaya. Overall, delicate and balanced.
T: The taste is also balanced following the nose closely, with hops being the showcase. I get citrus pith and a light grainy sweetness following through to the mid palate mixing with papaya and herbaceous notes and a hint of spiciness. It finishes dry with a clean restrained bitterness. As I drink the beer the citrus and papaya permeate my palate so that by half way they follow through into the finish and aftertaste (papaya dominant) slightly blunting the bitterness.
F: Medium body with medium to medium-high carbonation.
O: This is an amazing beer that more people need to try. Nebco has hit a not exactly true-to-style homerun. They are apparently* now using a blend of German(Ariana), American(Citra), and New Zealand(Rakau) hops. I typically rate to style and this one should be an abomination just based on the hop profile, but it works here and it works well.
*Their website says they use Hallertau for this beer, but on my most recent visit their menu listed Ariana, Citra, and Rakau.

Sampling a cold draft in a pint glass at my house. The beer pours a bright clear gold color with a few lazy streams of carbonation rising to the surface of the glass. A fizzy bleached white head foams up 2 cm after a gentle pour and the foam fades to a thin edge layer gradually as the beer sits in my glass.
The aroma is a bit of grainy malt and some sweet white grape hints with a bit of spicy hop character mixed in for balance. Nose is mild in general but is appealing and seems appropriate for the style.
First sip reveals a light body with fine tingly carbonation that is fairly gentle on my palate. The texture is a little slick and the beer drinks very easy. No hints of the booze here either. The flavor is grainy malts and a bit of the same white grape hints that I got from the nose. A bit of spicy hop profile comes through on the swallow and lingers a bit after the finish with a light bitterness. A well made brew for an underbrewed style. VERY GLAD to have tried this one!
