I don't even know what is going on with this beer. I tried it on tap as released and one month later it is a totally different beer. The Denali and especially Sabro are now dominating at 1 month +. It's a completely different beer.
On tap at the brewery followed up by two cans dated 8/21/19.
L: Pours a dull orange color with a low to minimal haze. 1/4 finger of fine off-white head after an aggressive pour that recedes to a 1/8 minus finger of head that is retained as I drink the beer. It leaves a good lacing as the beer recedes in the glass. It's sticky.
S: The nose is dominated by pineapple and coconut, but I am also getting tropical fruit notes as well as pine and cedar. There is also a dash of funkiness (onion?).
T: The taste is very unique. I taste pineapple and coconut followed by a piney/cedar (I am not sure what dominates here) note followed by tropical pith finishing with a distinct funky citrus zest (limey onion?) and minimal bitterness. The alcohol is well hidden and doesn't really come out at all as the beer warms. Honestly, I will probably need to revisit this one given the complex melange of flavors going on here. Maybe someone more qualified could step in and sus out exactly what is going on here. I am very well acquainted with Citra and Mosaic (or at least I thought I was), but it seems to me they are being overpowered here by the Denali and Sabro. HALP it's too complex!!!! It's juicy but overpowered by the funk!
F: Soapy and slick with none of the typical Nebco dryness on the backend. This shit is smooth on the palate with a hint of effervecence imparted by the carbonation. I would say medium to low bodied.
O: I feel unqualified to really rate this overall, but given its uniqueness as a non-NEIPA DIPA I am giving it a 4.75. Not a typical Nebco offering. If I had an adjective to describe this beer I would go with "unique as fuck". Drink it, it's good!
I hope they go ahead and give this one a name.

Boy they were not kidding... they put de lime in de coconut... n i drink em bot’ up. This is as unique a nebco product as ive had. Based on its amber and “traditional” appearance one would not think flaked oat... but there is a softness that confirms this. But its not over the top like a lot of wheat and oat inflected beers. The non-reinheitsgebot malt contributors are in balance here and do not send the beer over the edge towards being overly sweet. Perhaps its hypnotic suggestion of the graphics but the aroma is soapy like a laundromat in an esoteric sense. Its sweet pineapple, lime and coconut, tropical craziness. As close to a pina colada as a beer should ever get. Its luscious and sweet and ends in a tropical citrusy zip of tang. This is a wild one.
