The newest edition to our rotating IPA series is a West Coast inspired IPA bursting with hop notes of pine, dank resin, and an underlying mango-like tropicality.

A crisp biscuity malt backbone leaves the beer finishing dry with a lingering bitterness.

Centennial and Simcoe with a touch of Columbus and Citra hops.

L: Pours a straw to pale gold color with good clarity. A gentle pour yields three fingers of fine, white head with good retention. As the beer goes down it leaves a nice spotty lacing on the glass.

S: On the nose I get orange, mango, notes of grapefruit, a bit of caramel malt, grainy malt, dank herbal notes, notes of pine, and a light floral quality.

T: On the palate I get a bit of orange and tropical fruit character on the front end mixing with sweet grainy malt as it moves to the middle. On the back end and finish I get some floral notes and a good amount of bitterness (but not IBU war level bitterness) coming from a nice piney dankness complemented by grapefruit rind. Yup, it's a WCIPA.

F: This one has a medium-light body with medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is slick and viscous with a good amount of dryness on the finish.

O: What we have here is a bona fide WCIPA that does what it needs to do, and then some. My only complaint would be that I wanted more bitterness and pine character. I know it's not 2009 any more, but a boy can dream. Highly recommended if you like WCIPAs! Haze bros can pass this one over.
