L: Dark brown color with a khaki head. Excellent retention and the head leaves a nice lacing as the beer goes down.
S: Chocolate, caramel, toasted malt character, and a light earthy hop aroma.
T: Following the nose I get big chocolate notes, caramel, bready toasted malt, and light hop character presenting earthy herbal notes. This one has a nice balance of malty sweetness and hop bitterness resulting in an overall impression of a light bitterness.
F: Medium-light body with moderate carbonation and a light dryness on the backend and finish.
O: Excellent rendition of the style. I am not sure what hops were being used but they seem to be continental rather than new world. This one is highly drinkable and while malt forward achieves a nice balance between the malty sweetness and bitterness coming from the hops. Highly recommended!
