473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Dec 2 2025 and served slightly chilled. This beer has been rebranded as Triple Bogey Ultra Premium Light.

Pours a crystal clear pale yellow colour, topped with half an inch of loose, fizzy white head that sizzles away within sixty seconds. A sickly thin collar is the only survivor, save for a single, solitary patch of suds on the surface; looks a bit flat at a glance. Neutral aroma with hints of grain, corn sugar and faintly herbal hops.

The flavours are largely inoffensive and highly unremarkable. A little sweeter than I'd prefer out of a light lager, with corny cereal, grain hulls and wet cardboard; hints of spicy, herbal hops develop late in the sip. Sweet aftertaste with shades of mineral water, fading to off-dry. Light in body, with restrained carbonation for this style; still, it's crisp and goes down easy.

Final Grade: 3.15, a C+. I am impressed with Triple Bogey's longevity: there are plenty of Ontario craft brewers (of both the contract brewery & brick-and-mortar varieties) that have come and gone in the 12 years since this company's flagship lager was introduced. I am significantly less impressed with Triple Bogey's actual brews, and their Ultra Premium Light Lager is no exception. This is a below-average light beer that is only marginally better than the macro alternatives, e.g. Bud Light. You could do worse, but I think it's fair to suggest that effective marketing, and not product quality, is what has kept this outfit chugging along since 2014.

Can: Poured a pale yellow color lager. Aroma of light cereal notes with some residual sugar notes. Taste is a mix of light cereal notes with a clean sweet finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Easy drinking lager after a round of golf.
