This is a solid, very surprising beer. Not a saison fan, but the whiskey barrel aging does incredible things here.

I am not a big saison fan. I will drink one occasionally but it is never my first choice. That being said this may be the exception. This is a whiskey barrel aged saison. I am told that they age it in a barrel that was previously used to age their brown, this second round of barrel aging is much more subtle. It is a dark saison that smells of wheat and whiskey. Incredibly well balanced. Wheat, malty, and whiskey. Everything in balance, nothing overpowering. Has a medium/light body appropriate of the style. This is a one of a kind beer that I loved.
