i had higher hops for this red ipa type, it actually smelled pretty good, but there is this weird tangy yeast thing going on, and a whole lot more hop bitterness than hop flavor. less of the amber malt sugars linger than it looks like in the glass, but the drier beer doesnt balance the bitterness well enough, and this comes across pretty sloppy. i do see some potential though, i like some yeast character in hoppy beer, so that just needs to be dialed in a bit, maybe fermented a little cooler, and the hops smell great, so maybe some later kettle and dry hopping could take a higher percentage of the bill, but it definitely is in need of a tweak. my girlfriend hated it, i came up short of that, but think its very newbie beer, amateurish, homebrewy, that kind of thing. this was my least favorite of all the beers i had last night at goldspot. the breakfast porter was easily the best. skip this one until they hone it in a bit.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
