On tap at the brewery in to a snifter glass.
A-The beer arrives with virtually no head. Color is orange hued copper that is slightly darker than average for the style. The beer is moderately hazy with no carbonation to be seen. Ho hum.
S-The aroma is really heavy on the Belgian yeast with lots of bubblegum aroma. Seriously, this smells like a stick of fresh Juicy Fruit. Other than the Wrigleys, I'm sniffing some light orange, clove spice, and honey notes. It is all malt and yeast; no hop.
T-The taste is similarly heavy on the bubblegum flavor. I don't mind this flavor, and it is a Belgian ale, so a little of this is to be expected, but the beer is pretty monotone. Just light flavors of spiced orange and honey complement the bubblegum.
M-The heft is above-average with moderate amounts of carbonation. The beer is slightly crisp for the style.
O-There are very few good Belgian Pale Ales around and unfortunately this is another effort that I don't need to try again. The beer is definitely "Belgian," but there is just too much bubblegum happening here to taste anything else. It also does not look or feel like a Belgian pale. Oh well.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
