On tap at the brewery into snifter glass.
A-The beer is nicely colored, a sort-of orange gold with just a bit of haze. My pour arrives with just a thin cap of white head that fades almost immediately to nothing. No carbonation is visible. Not amazing to look at.
S-The aroma is a subdued mixture of orange citrus notes, leafy greens, cereal grain, and hints of honey. Alcohol is well concealed. This tripel is definitely not the in-your-face variety.
T-The taste is similar. I'm picking up a mellow mixture of grain and honey malt flavors, lightly floral hops, some citrus, a light alcohol heat, and a bit of medicinal leafy character on the finish. Pleasant; no one flavor really jumps out.
M-The body is medium to slightly heavy, but well within the style. Carbonation is on the mild side of average and semi-crisp rather than creamy.
O-This is a nice, mellow tripel. Nothing here is offensive, but nothing here really wows me, either. As a sucker for honey beers, I was hoping for a little more action there. Despite the dry hopping with Mandarina Bavaria, it tends toward traditional, which is alright with me.
