On the nose, aromas of caramel, nuts, brown bread, and a hint of forest floor come up out of the glass. On the palate, biscuity malt notes, caramel and a big nuttiness make it easy to tell this is a Scotch Ale. A slightly herbal, earthy hop character comes out as the beer warms. The beer finishes quickly but leaves the impression of nut bread on the palate.

I seem to have lost my original review due to the spiteful browser. Oh well. It poured with a finger of head that made some lace but didn't make it past the 1/3rd mark. Smells of toffee malt but with a sandy background, but it has good potency. The beer itself, starts with watered down toffee which turns to what can be be described as breadcrumbs mixed with sand. The aftertaste is aggressively dry, so in a sense sort of forcing you to keep drinking.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A two finger tan head on a clear dark amber brown. Good head retention. Some thick lacing.
Some faint clean malt smells. Taste is of caramel malts up front. Maybe a hint of smoke. Leans sweet but finishes soft and dry.
A smooth, medium light body. Moderate carbonation. Overall an interesting Scottish Ale. Well worth a try.
